Frank Brawler Guide

FRANK BRAWL STARS GUIDE

Frank Overview

Frank in Brawl Stars is a heavyweight, tank, bruiser brawler. He uses a short range cone-shaped area attack to do large amounts of damage in a short period of time.
One of Frank's biggest strengths is his Super ability “Stunning Blow” that lets him stun multiple enemies, clear troublesome walls and do massive damage. Few brawlers have enough health to survive getting stunned, since Frank will be able to follow up with a few basic attacks.

Pros

  • High damage
  • High health
  • Area effect hits multiple enemies
  • Low recharge speed
  • Game changing Super

Cons

  • Short range
  • Slow movement speed (when attacking)
  • Easy to hit
  • Attack delay
  • Susceptible to stuns & knockback

Hammer Hit [Basic Attack]

Frank takes a while to wind up his hammer blow, but the hit is so hard it sends a shockwave.
Frank's basic attack deals a big chunk of damage in a wide arc. Getting in range of Frank's basic attacks usually leads to a quick death.
Enemy brawlers will try to either stay out of range and slowly pepper down Frank's large pool of hit points or get close enough to take him out in one burst. Since the attack has a delay, close-range brawlers can dodge his attacks by walking through him to the other side.
In brawl stars Frank should use brush and obstacles to his advantage to close the distance on enemy brawlers with longer range.

Stunning Blow [Super]

Frank's greatest hit sends a shockwave that destroys environment and stuns enemies for a while.
Frank's super is like a super powered version of his basic attack. It's a similar animation and delay, but adds a larger range, and a long stun.
Once Frank stuns an enemy, their chances of survival drop drastically, and Frank can even chain supers together if he catches multiple enemies with his attacks. Chaining supers means your opponents will be completely locked down and unable to fight back until their health drops to 0.
While using Frank's super, be sure to watch for enemies with stun or knockbacks (like Shelly's super). Once you start your super, if an enemy brawlers stuns you or knocks you back, you'll lose your full charge and whiff the attack.

Power Grab

Frank steals the power of a Brawler he defeats, increasing his damage by 50% for 12 seconds!
Frank's star power “power grab” makes cleaning up enemies a breeze. His already high damage (1680 at max level) goes to an insane 2520 per hit while powered up.
You'll want to use this star power whenever dealing heavy damage is desired, and when you need extra zone control. When you activate power grab and start glowing purple, most enemy brawlers will try to stay way clear of you, letting you clear a path for your team to score a goal in brawl ball, grab some gems, etc.

Sponge

Frank gains +1100 health.
Frank's second star power, sponge, is purely a boost to his health. It's a pretty big boost, but Frank's hit points were already high enough that it's not as big a deal for him.
You'll want to use this star power when you need that extra life boost to get closer to enemies and land your attacks.
This star power should also be the only one you pick whenever you're playing Robo Rumble or Boss Fight. These game modes have no opportunity to use his other star power (since you won\t be fighting enemy brawlers).

Frank Tips and Tricks

High damage, high health, and an amazing area effect super make Frank an asset in team maps. His lower range and lack of mobility while attacking make him tougher to play in solo modes.
In brawl stars frank shines in game modes where enemies are forced to go after an objective, like brawl ball.
Frank is the best brawler for locking down a huge area with stuns. He can put out massive damage and apply tons of pressure, but be careful on maps with lots of open space. Frank is a large/easy target for sharpshooter brawlers if he doesn't have obstacles and brush to help him close the distance.
When attacking with your brawler Frank, try to make sure enemies are well within your attack range. Since his attacks are delayed, and the shockwave takes some time to travel, fast enemies at the edge of your range will be able to easily escape your attacks.
Likewise, try not to let super close range brawlers get the drop on you. Brawlers like Shelly and El Primo will put out too much burst damage if they can get right next to you. They'll also use the opportunity to run right through you, possibly causing your attacks to miss.
Don't forget your super plows straight through obstacles, so you can use it to clear a path to enemies trying to hide. Just don't clear out too many walls early in the match if the other team has lots of sharpshooters who will punish you for it.
Frank's super charges incredibly fast. Don't be afraid to fire it off early and often if you can hit an enemy brawler, since you'll probably have it recharged by the time they're dead.
